A damaged shaft often refers the wears of journal and splines, shaft deformation and shaft rupture, but, how do you determine that whether the shaft would be repaired or replaced? Here are the methods.
1. Use a dial indicator to measure the shaft bending and deformation, the damages of axial teeth and spline teeth, they should be calibrated or replaced when exceeding the standard.
2. Use a micrometer to check the wear of the journal, if the wear reaches a predetermined value, then the shaft journal can be grinding after surfacing, chrome repairing or replacement.
3. Check the wear on axis positioning groove, and the maximum amount of wear of CAI091, EQI090 is 0.5mm, if exceeded, the shaft should be replaced.
4. Any forms of cracks and broken appeared on the axis, it should be replaced.
