The Structure of Continuously Variable Transmission(CVT)

CVT internal basic structure consists of a pulley, strip and related control mechanism and lubricating mechanism, of which the pulley divided into the drive pulley and driven pulley, through these two pulleys each change in diameter to achieve the purpose of changing the gear ratio, which is similar to the principles of the assembly of the bicycle shifting device.

Since the CVT is always uninterrupted passing powers in the whole process of gear ratio change, structurally, CVT in ride comfort is superior than other types of transmission.

However, CVT gearbox in the structure also has shortcomings, a combination of pulleys and strip are not good at dealing with excessive transmission strength, it is more suitable for those small or power is not strong car. However, based on lifting of materials technology and manufacturing processes, this short piece of board of CVT gearbox has been possible compensated.
