What is the role of the shift forks?

The shift fork is also called the transmission shift fork, which is used to dial the synchronizer ring to realize the combination and separation of the forward gears. The reverse gear has no synchronizer, and the fork directly shifts the reverse gear to achieve the switching reverse gear.

As an important part of the car's gearbox, the fork is connected to the shifting handle, located at the lower end of the handle, and the intermediate shifting wheel is toggled to change the input/output speed ratio. The shift fork is used for shifting. It is mainly used in the operating mechanism to disengage two snap-in gears and then shift one of the gears that can slide on the shaft to another gear to obtain another speed. That is, the position of the internal gear of the transmission is changed to achieve shifting.
